Cusco is the gateway to one of the most spectacular archaeological sites that exists in South America, the lost city of the Incas Machu Picchu, with its imposing Inca architectural setting, nestled amidst mountains and deep canyons. On the city tour of Cusco, you will see interesting places within the city of Cusco like the Koricancha (Inca Sun Temple), and the imposing Inca ruins at Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay.
The best way to visit every archaeological, cultural and leisure place in Cusco City is using the tourist ticket issued by the Municipality. The Tourist Ticket has two established routes. The first one in the Partial Ticket and includes the Sacsayhuaman Ruins, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. The second route is the General Tourist Ticket that allows entrance to the galleries of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Cusco’s Municipality, the Museum of Regional History, the Coricancha Site Museum, the Museum of Popular Art and Qosqo native Art Center. With this ticket you can also enter the Pachacuteq Monument, the Sacsayhuaman Ruins, Qenko, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, Tipon and Pikillaqta, Finally, if the visitor would like to tour the Sacred Valley of the Incas, they can also go to Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero.
